framing
All prints sold on this website will fit inexpensive Ikea frames. If you choose this option take your art prints to your nearest Ikea store and try against the various styles, all of which have a mount included.

You can buy very reasonably priced frames off the shelf from many stores, take your frame and your artwork to a framing centre and get them to cut a new mount for your artwork. Or if in doubt get a professional framer to advise on frame and mount.
the mount
The mount is there for two reasons. The first is to create a pleasing border for the artwork. This can be done by choosing a complimentary (be it toned down) colour. And the second reason is to stop the artwork touching the glass.mounted The bottom margin is sometimes slightly wider. This is to give a visual 'weight' to the piece. All materials used in the mounting and framing should be made from acid-free materials.

Correct framing is essential for the protection of your artwork and can add another pleasing dimension - be it a drawing, a pastel, an etching or a print. So be sure to get your art framed right away so you will be able to enjoy it for years and years to come. Whatever you decide to spend, choose frames and mounts that will enhance the work of art itself, so that if you move, redecorate, or decide to hang the piece in another location, it will always look good. If feasible, consult the artist regarding his/her intentions for displaying the painting or print. The artist's input may contribute to a more meaningful presentation.
